Bustling Durban is the hub of the province’s business and industry and pulses with all the energy of a major port city. This city is often referred to as South Africa’s ‘Miami Beach’. Durban is one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the world.
A multi-cultural showpiece global destination. The Zulu Kingdom, or the Province of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has a devout following throughout continental Africa. And it is right up there on “must-see, must-do” lists of discerning travellers around the world. It is a hive of local arts and crafts that are as diverse as its region.
Known by locals as the Dolphin Coast, this popular stretch of coastline is frequented by dolphins and whales and many idyllic beaches and bays offer superb fishing, surfing and swimming spots. Tropical and lush, this region abounds with birdlife and there are many nature reserves where you can find your favourite species or enjoy a hike through the coastal forests.
Big 5 Game
Home to one of the two World Heritage sites, the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park, has five distinct ecosystems and a unique biodiversity found nowhere else on earth. The region offers everything from Big 5 game viewing, gorgeous beaches and some of the best snorkelling and scuba diving in the country..
A diverse and cultural region, places like Shakaland and Dumazulu offer an insight into the life and traditions of the Zulu people and the royal homesteads of Shaka, Dingaan and others are located near Nongoma. Zululand also offers its visitors some amazing beaches, games reserves, fishing and bird watching.
